I am inspired by unusual forms and the versatility and playfulness of the medium of clay. I especially enjoy the distortion of classical functional pottery, both in form and in surface design through impressing, carving and transferring designs. The technical and dynamic aspects of atmospheric firing and glazing techniques also inspires my work and continues to delight me. I have a bachelors of Anthropology from the University of Victoria and a Certificate of Ceramics from Kootenay School of the Arts. I am currently completing an apprenticeship with Cathi Jefferson in the Cowichan Valley.
